Donna Blackwood is an upcoming R&B Singer/Songwriter, from Old Trafford, Manchester.
Donna, a mother of five, has been singing from when she was a toddler. She has been writing poetry since the age of 10 and Songwriting ever since.
Growing up on reggae, R&B, 80’s and Hip-Hop music, Donna’s influences range from Alicia Keys, Anita Baker, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse.
Donna’s dad, Colin Blackwood, was a major music influence in her life. Colin, known as ‘Drummie’, played a wide range of instruments, created and produced his own music.
Over the last year, Donna has performed at various venues across the UK and now has her first single ‘Where Are We’ ready to be released on 1st June 2023.
The lyrics touch on a personal journey which is relatable for many women trying to advance their chosen careers whilst holding down a committed relationship and a family.
