Lowry was known for his depictions of industrial landscapes, but the artist was also known for his paintings of working class people in their free time, doing things they liked to do. Children out playing in the streets, family’s enjoying the old Piccadilly gardens in Manchester, people on holiday at the seaside, people enjoying a football / cricket match, playing at a playground, going to the circus and more. Get your children to think about what they like to do for fun, and the places they like to go by painting a Lowry inspired leisure time scene.
