SFTOQUAYS: Algernon Cornelius
Algernon Cornelius is a rapper/producer from Manchester. While a mainstay of the UK DIY scene, Algernon has played alongside Armand Hammer, Sons Of Kemet, Cakes Da Killa, Dälek, Moor Mother, NAH, Grove, Shabazz Palaces, Ho99o9, The Bug, BbyMutha and Teebs.
His production credits extend to the likes of underground rap legends such as R.A.P. Algernon has also been featured in Death Grips own Andy Morin’s A2B2 radio show, as well as having performed at Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here Festival and Supernormal Festival.
Having unleashed an arsenal of compilations, mixtapes, EPs, instrumental beat tapes, side projects and alter-alias albums throughout the late 2010’s, the last couple of years has seen the release of ‘Neither Gloaming Nor Argent: Both Before And After The Dark’ – a compilation of rap singles, his “official” debut rap album ‘The Miraculous Weapons of Clarkus_Dark’, and the EP ‘Me No Sen You No Come’ in late 2022. ‘SEGUNDO’, Algernon’s 2nd album, was released in March of this year and features guest appearances from Iceboy Violet, James Smith of Yard Act, Valentine Caulfield from Mandy, Indiana, Beige Palace and Claudia Kensani Saviotti.
